Your initial 30-minute consultation is free. We discuss the problem, your current process, and possible next steps. Discovery, detailed analysis, written recommendations, design, development, training, and support beyond that call are paid work, with scope and fees agreed before they begin.

My background is in oil and gas operations. I offer consulting to businesses across Canada dealing with recurring reporting, manual data handling, approvals, and business tools. The initial consultation helps establish whether my services fit your needs.

Fees depend on the agreed scope. After the initial consultation, we agree on the scope and fee for any further work before it starts. If paid discovery is needed to define a larger project, that discovery has its own agreed scope and fee. Licensing and other relevant third-party costs are considered when planning the work.

Timing depends on the scope, data quality, integrations, access, and availability of the people reviewing the work. We agree on a timeline for the proposed scope. Smaller improvements may combine stages; broader work may be delivered in phases.

Yes. I am based in Fort McMurray, Alberta, and offer remote consulting across Canada. If on-site discovery or training is needed, we can discuss availability and include any agreed travel and on-site work in the paid scope.

We start with your free initial 30-minute consultation. Any further work is paid, with scope and fees agreed before it begins. A project can then cover discovery, design, development and testing, and deployment and handover. A smaller improvement may combine stages.

Training can be included in the paid project scope. We agree on the audience, materials, and sessions needed for the solution.

I hold Microsoft’s Power BI Data Analyst certification, earned through PL-300. Northern Analytics is a new independent consultancy; the examples on this website use fictional data rather than client work.

Power BI is Microsoft’s reporting and business intelligence platform. It can connect supported data sources and turn them into interactive reports. Refresh frequency depends on the source, connection mode, licences, and configuration; reports are not automatically live. Data quality and shared metric definitions are part of the work.

Power Automate connects supported systems and runs workflows such as routing approvals, moving records, and sending notifications. Good automation includes validation, failure handling, and human review for exceptions. It needs an owner and monitoring after launch.
